Hard to know where to start , Big welcome at reception , laid back attitude , pitch where you like , hard standing , grass whatever , electric hook up , good size pitches , we had a whole section to ourselves, well maintained , no mud , good facilities , £2 deposit for the toilet key ,
fishing is included in the price on the river (2 miles of it fishable) and one of the lakes ( good size lake )
fishing the Carp pond is on day ticket , you have to use the landing nets provided by them to prevent disease ( good idea ) £ 5 deposit refundable ,
The tackle shop is an Aladdin's cave to an angler , you name it , they've got it ,
On Friday' Pete was the only one on the Carp pond , two mins walk from the van , the fish were up for it , Huge , he was there 4 hours and caught about 15 Carp , missed a few , the last was a monster that all but finished him off took him about 15 mins to get it up , he was knackered , had to pack in after that ,
The Sites website says the biggest this year is 28lb (I’m updating this in February
Sat' morning walking round the site stumbled on the local ' shoot' Pheasants falling
out the skies ( one on the golf course on site ) the wildlife was amazing , barn
owls , Kestrels , Hares,
The pub restaurant on site serves one of the best pints of Guinness I've ever had
, well , maybe more than one the menu was very extensive and good prices , children
and dogs are welcome , a friendly welcome from every one , like pubs used to be ,there
was a disco on Sat' night !
This site has static vans on but the touring site is well separated and you wouldn't
even notice them , except when staggering back from the pub
Highly recommend this
place , will be going again soon, wish I was going for Christmas as they have loads
going on , party nights etc , will be doing it next year
